Acceptance Academy Overview
What is the Acceptance Academy?
Danny's Acceptance Academy is the premier college application workshop that he has developed over the last 10 years and has resulted in incredible success for students all over the world.
How is the Academy different than other application workshops (including those offered by high schools)?
Moreover, no other workshop we have seen allows students to get such 1-1 instruction with a personal writing and application coach. From the very beginning, this is what students told Danny they wanted the most, which is why the Academy has evolved so that students balance their time between learning what to do, doing it, and getting help making it as good as possible.
What will students get done?
Fill out the college applications (Common Application, and other options including University of California, University of Texas, & University of Washington).
Make the detailed Activity List/Resume using the format of the applications.
Do in-depth research into each college on their list, using the schools' own websites and materials.
Complete a full checklist of all the college requirements, deadlines, and essay questions.
Send emails to admissions officers, asking questions in order to get into a dialogue and request times to meet at school and local events.
Write a standout Personal Statement that is required by almost all colleges.
Write one-of-a-kind “Why do you want to attend our college?” essays.
Meet 1-1 with a coach throughout the Academy & for one hour on Day 4 to create genuine, compelling applications.
And much, much more that will help students show colleges who they truly are as individuals.
Where does the Academy take place?
The Academy takes place completely online so that students join Danny as he walks them through the application process. Then each student will meet 1-1 with their coach for their personalized sessions via Zoom.
What if a student has additional applications or essays than those covered?
We also encourage students to review their applications and essays with their parents and school counselors, so they typically submit the actual applications on their own. However, we do cover how to do submissions during the Academy and provide a video of the steps for them to review as necessary.

Who It's Perfect For
Who’s right for the Acceptance Academy?
The Academy is designed for high school students who have just finished their junior years who plan on applying to college in the fall of their senior years.
Students should attend if they have a tentative list of four-year colleges that require applications and essays.
Who’s not right for this program?
The academy isn't right for students who want to apply to colleges that do not require essays.
It isn't right for students who only want to apply to community colleges, due to the fact that their applications typically do not require activity lists or essays.
It isn't right for students who aren't prepared to actually work during the three days. Students often come with various interests, GPAs, test scores, college choices and writing abilities, but any student can be successful in the Academy if they want to get work done, are willing to put in time, and want to get constructive help and feedback.
Will the Academy work if a student doesn't have a finalized list of colleges?
Yes. Students do not have to have every school finalized before the Academy, especially because students will be doing research during the 3 days that may change their choices and priorities.
Having said this, students should at least have a tentative list of the colleges they want to apply to, so we can focus on the correct applications, personal statement questions, and supplemental essays.
What if a student only wants to apply to the University of California schools?
Danny will be covering the Common Application and required essays, so the specific UC Appilcation is not covered. However, much of the same advice applies to the UC application, incuding the work done on the essays.
Can siblings take the Academy together?
Siblings can certainly attend together online. However, given that each student gets 1-1 time with a coach, each sibling will ideally want to use a separate computer, and families will have to pay separate fees. If it is a challenge to do this, families are welcome to contact us at email@example.com, and we will do our best to help.

Other Important Details
Why should a family choose the Academy over other college counseling options?
We believe the Acceptance Academy is the most efficient and effective way for students to complete strong college applications.
Most importantly, students who attend the Academy get walked through Danny's approach of helping students write unconventional and authentic essays that catch the attention of admissions representatives, as well as learn how to put together applications that truly reflect their unique qualities. The importance of the approach cannot be underestimated both in terms of helping reduce student anxiety and producing results.
Will students speak with or get feedback directly from Danny?
This is a group learning experience with individualized 1-1 coaching with Danny's trained and certified coaches, so getting guidance and support is never more than a few minutes away. Students will also be able to ask Danny questions live during the instruction portions of the Academy.
The program is designed by Danny and while he does check in with individual students and continually checks in with his coaches throughout the three days to provide additional feedback and support on student applications and essays, we can’t guarantee unlimited individual feedback from him. Danny also cannot offer individualized work with students 1-1 after the Academy due to time constraints.
How do I know that the Academy is effective?
You can hear straight from our grads, including parents and students by going to www.acceptanceacademy.com/testimonials
What if I have another question not listed here?
Write us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll be happy to help you.
Who are the coaches?
Danny hand picks his coaches after a lengthy application and interview process, after which he trains them in his approach. He also ensures each coach has the "it" factor when it comes to relating to teens and being able to constructively help them with positive feedback. Each coach must have a solid background in writing and teaching, as well as a proven ability to think outside the box and ask questions that get to the heart of a student's best qualities.
